Membership

Vorspiel is the largest sports club for Gays and Lesbians in Germany. It was founded as Vorspiel SSV (Gay Sports Club) on November 11, 1986, and has grown since then to more than 1100 members. Lesbians were always welcome, but in 1998, Vorspiel changed its name to acknowledge their growing numbers in the club. As a sports club for gays and lesbians, Vorspiel offers both fitness and fun for its members with a variety of sports unmatched in Germany: volleyball, basketball, soccer, fitness, gymnastics, track & field, swimming, tennis, ping pong, squash and several others.

Vorspiel also supports its members interested in competitive sports.  Membership in several official sports organizations (volleyball, lifesaving and swimming, badminton, gymnastics, track & field, squash, ping pong...) enables participation at licensed competitions.  

Vorspiel is also a member of the local State Sports Organization (LSB), the European Gay & Lesbian Sports Federation (EGLSF) and of the Federation of Gay Games (FGG). Vorspiel offers each potential member a trial period. You can take part in up to 4 successive training sessions without cost or obligation. Sports which require usage fees, like sailing or squash, are an exception. During the trial period and as a normal member you are covered by accident insurance; this coverage does not include accidents that occur while in transit. The insurance is automatically canceled for trial members after the trial period if they do not chose to become regular members. To take advantage of the trial period, look for a workable training time for your chosen sport.
Certain sports are offered seasonally. It can also happen that some locations are closed during school vacations while others may remain open. It is always best to check with the trainers in advance.

VORSPIEL
is affordable for anybody! The current yearly membership fee is 156 EUR for employed participants, 78 EUR for students, apprentices, young adults (up to age 21), retirees and the unemployed.
By paying your full year’s membership fee in one payment (until the end of February) you receive a discount which is equivalent to one month’s membership.
All that needs to be done to take advantage of this offer is to return the auto-debit authorization. In the first year of membership your fee will be calculated starting from the day you become a member.
